Kanye West has stirred up another whirlwind of controversy, this time for selling a T-shirt emblazoned with a swastika emblem. In a recent return to X, he attempted to explain his actions and address the backlash from his latest outburst, which included anti-Semitic remarks, praise for Hitler, and discussions about violence and sexual abuse.
Kanye kicked things off by proclaiming that his recent Twitter tirade was “90% JEW PROOF,” referring to a previous tweet where he said he was going “DEATHCON 3 ON THE JEWS.” He insisted that his comments were directed at a few specific individuals rather than the entire Jewish community, claiming, “A FEW SPECIFIC JEWS CAME TOGETHER AND DID EVERYTHING THEY COULD TO DESTROY ME.” He added that he was simply reminding everyone of the backlash he faced before and that this time he was “pushing every cancelable idea possible.”
When discussing the T-shirt featuring the swastika, Kanye revealed that the idea had been brewing in his mind for over eight years. He expressed fascination with the symbol’s complex history and stated, “I REMEMBER GOING TO JAPAN AND GASPING WHEN I SAW WHAT IS KNOWN AS THE SWASTIKA ON CLOTHING. IT FELT ILLEGAL TO EVEN LOOK AT IT.” He claimed that the swastika has many meanings and that he wanted to explore its significance.
Kanye also mentioned the fallout from his anti-Semitic comments, including the departure of two employees and his ongoing work on The Game's upcoming album, The Documentary 3. He emphasized that his controversial statements did not deter him; in fact, he claimed to have made $40 million the day after his comments went viral. “THE POINT I MADE AND SHOWED IS THAT I AM NOT UNDER JEWISH CONTROL ANYMORE,” he stated defiantly.
He acknowledged losing some key members of his team, including a designer named Simon and a lead stylist named Malcolm, both of whom he described as significant losses. He expressed hope that one day they would understand his actions and forgive his methods.
Kanye didn’t stop there; he also took a jab at Shopify after his account was terminated due to the backlash over the T-shirt. “YEEZY WAS ALSO DROPPED BY SHOPIFY... I HATE SHOPIFY AND I ALWAYS HAVE,” he declared. He accused the platform of controlling the market and exploiting brand data while leaving creators in the dark.
Unfortunately for Ye, the posts have since been deleted, but his recent antics didn’t stop with the swastika shirt. He also began selling a hoodie associated with a serious incident involving Diddy and even attempted to justify the assault, claiming it was an act of “true love.” As usual, Kanye's actions have sparked outrage, leaving many questioning the thought process behind his latest ventures.
