Kanye West Backtracks on Nazi Comments—And Credits Adam Sandler?
Kanye West has made yet another headline-grabbing pivot, this time claiming he no longer considers himself a Nazi. Just a week after openly praising Hitler and declaring himself a Nazi in a series of antisemitic rants, Ye has now distanced himself from those statements.
In a post to his 33 million followers on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday (February 19), the rapper wrote:
“After further reflection I’ve come to the realization that I’m not a Nazi.”
What exactly sparked this “reflection” remains unclear, but it seems Adam Sandler may have played a role.
During Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special, Sandler—who is Jewish—performed a song poking fun at the show’s history, slipping in a line that seemed to reference Kanye’s recent controversies:
“50 years of finding out your favorite musician is antisemitic.”
Ye appeared to take the mention in stride, responding on X:
“Adam Sandler Thank you for the love.”
While Kanye may be walking back his Nazi claims, his recent track record tells a different story. He not only spent days spewing antisemitic rhetoric on social media, but he also designed and sold T-shirts featuring a swastika. His tirade included statements like:
“IM NEVER APOLOGIZING FOR MY JEWISH COMMENTS. I CAN SAY WHATEVER THE F*** I WANNA SAY FOREVER.”
His remarks ultimately cost him major business deals, including his lucrative partnership with adidas, and even led to Shopify shutting down his Yeezy website.
Whether this latest reversal marks genuine growth or just another chapter in Kanye’s ever-erratic behavior remains to be seen.
