Asake Reconciles with Father, Steps Up for His Daughter

Asake Reconciles with Father, Vows to Take Full Responsibility for Daughter

Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake has made amends with his father, Fatai Odunsi, after a period of tension between them. The reconciliation comes shortly after Mr. Odunsi publicly accused the singer of abandoning him since his health began deteriorating in 2022. In a heartfelt turn of events, Asake has now promised to buy his father a house, cover his medical expenses, and fully take responsibility for his 11-year-old daughter, Zeenat.

In a new video shared on Sunday, Mr. Odunsi confirmed that the dispute between them had been resolved. Speaking in Yoruba, he acknowledged that his frustration stemmed from a lack of communication. "His mother should have asked him when last he saw me. That was what got me angry, but we have now sorted out all the problems. We are no longer fighting," he said.

The singer’s father went on to reveal that Asake has assured him of unwavering support. "He said he will do everything I want. We have settled, no more problems. They are now looking for a new house that he will buy for me. He has settled everything," Odunsi added.

Beyond reconciling with his father, Asake has also taken full responsibility for his daughter, Zeenat. While Mr. Odunsi emphasized that the singer never denied his child, he confirmed that Asake has now made a firm commitment to her upbringing and welfare.

Asake’s rise to fame has been nothing short of meteoric, and with it has come the usual challenges of navigating personal relationships in the spotlight. His father’s public plea for attention initially sparked a wave of reactions from fans, with some criticizing the singer and others urging for reconciliation. Now that the family has resolved its issues, many will see this as a positive step toward healing and unity.

The news of this reconciliation has been met with mixed reactions online, with some fans applauding Asake for stepping up to his responsibilities, while others continue to debate the impact of fame on personal relationships. Regardless, this development marks a fresh start for the family, proving that even in the world of stardom, family remains a priority.

With the rift now mended, all eyes are on Asake as he continues to dominate the Afrobeats scene while also fulfilling his commitments as a son and a father.
