"2Baba No Deserve to Marry Again?" – Morayo Afolabi-Brown Questions Lawmaker’s Alleged Romance with Singer
Media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown has stirred controversy after questioning Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru’s alleged romantic involvement with legendary Nigerian singer 2Face Idibia. Speaking on TVC’s Your View, Morayo strongly criticized Natasha’s supposed decision to date 2Face, labeling it as a sign of low self-esteem and questioning why any woman, especially one of Natasha’s status, would consider being with a man who has such a controversial relationship history.
“Doesn’t it reek of low self-esteem to date somebody like 2Face?” Morayo asked. “For you to leave your core self, your lawmaker self, and fall in love with a man who has this much baggage—so many women, so much drama—doesn’t that reflect poorly on Natasha’s part?”
Her statement came in response to rumors of 2Face proposing to Natasha. While the alleged proposal has not been officially confirmed, the mere speculation was enough to ignite a debate about the singer’s history with women and whether he should be considering marriage again.
Morayo further argued that 2Face has had too many past entanglements to be viewed as a viable partner for any woman seeking stability. With seven children from multiple women, including his wife Annie Idibia, she believes the singer should be focusing on the commitments he has already made rather than trying to start a new chapter.
“For me, I’m like, ‘Aunty, are you okay? Are you seeing with your two eyes?’” she continued. “He has enough baggage for you to look at and say, ‘No, I’m not going there.’ 2Face doesn’t deserve to remarry. If the roles were reversed and a woman had his kind of history, would society ever let her get away with it? Never. So why should he?”
Morayo’s comments have since ignited a heated debate on social media, with fans and critics sharing their opinions. While some agree with her, arguing that 2Face’s past actions should disqualify him from seeking another marriage, others believe that love is unpredictable and that Natasha has the right to make her own decisions.
Supporters of 2Face argue that his past should not define his future, emphasizing that people grow and change. Some have also pointed out that marriage is a personal decision, and Natasha, if truly involved with him, is capable of making her own choices. Others, however, side with Morayo, saying that 2Face has had enough chances and should remain committed to Annie Idibia.
Regardless of public opinion, 2Face remains a cultural icon in Nigeria, known for his musical talent and long-lasting influence in the industry. Whether or not he intends to remarry remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—his personal life will always be a topic of discussion.
What do you think? Should 2Face be given another shot at love, or should he focus on the commitments he already has? Let’s hear your thoughts!
