Travis Scott Hit with Lawsuit Over Alleged Security Assault
Travis Scott is facing a lawsuit from a man who claims he was assaulted by one of the rapper’s security guards.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Omar Muhanna alleges that on August 17, 2024, he was attacked by a security guard employed by Scott while standing outside a concert venue in Manhattan. He claims the incident left him with permanent injuries.
At the time, Scott was performing at Fanatics Fest at the Javits Center, but Muhanna says the alleged assault happened several blocks away. Despite the lawsuit, Scott’s representatives have dismissed the claims as baseless, arguing that the rapper was not present during the incident and is being sued simply for hiring the security company involved.
Muhanna is seeking damages from Scott.
This lawsuit comes shortly after the rapper had his own run-in with security at an NBA game. While attending a Lakers vs. Clippers matchup at the Intuit Dome, Scott was briefly stopped by a guard who failed to recognize him and attempted to block his exit. The Clippers later apologized, and the guard was reassigned.
Scott also made headlines last year when he was arrested in Miami for disorderly intoxication and trespassing. The charges were ultimately dropped after his legal team argued that there were no clear “no trespassing” signs at the location.
