Keefe D Pushes to Delay 2Pac Murder Trial, Claims New Evidence Proves His Innocence
Keefe D isn’t ready to face trial just yet—because according to him, there’s fresh proof that could clear his name.
The former gang leader, charged with orchestrating 2Pac’s 1996 murder, has filed a motion to postpone his March 2025 trial. His legal team claims a private investigator’s testimony places him outside Las Vegas when Pac was gunned down. They also suggest there’s evidence pointing to a completely different suspect—something they say should be fully investigated before the trial moves forward.
A judge is set to review the motion on February 18.
Keefe D has been in custody since September 2023, marking the first arrest in the decades-old case. He previously tried to get the charge dropped, arguing that he had an immunity deal with law enforcement after confessing his involvement in 2008. However, prosecutors denied any such deal existed, and a judge ruled against him.
His lawyers insist there’s no real evidence tying him to the crime, claiming his past statements were made purely for entertainment and profit—similar to LAPD detective Greg Kading, who wrote a book about the case.
Keefe himself detailed 2Pac’s murder in his 2019 book Compton Street Legend, but his attorneys argue that prosecutors haven’t even proven which parts of the book were actually written by him.
With this new motion, Keefe D is once again trying to avoid trial—but whether the court buys his latest claims remains to be seen.
