Playboi Carti Hints at New Album with Cryptic Billboards—Is It Finally Happening?
Playboi Carti fans, the wait might actually be over.
Mysterious billboards have started popping up in Los Angeles and Miami, fueling speculation that Carti’s long-teased album, I Am Music, is finally on the way. The ads, which read “MUSIC IS COMING” alongside a Spotify logo, offer no release date or details—just enough to send the internet into a frenzy.
For years, Carti has been teasing the follow-up to 2020’s Whole Lotta Red, but delays have kept fans on edge. Back in August, he promised at Germany’s Splash! Festival that the album was coming, even premiering a new track live. Then in September, producer Cardo—the mastermind behind hits for Drake, Travis Scott, and Kendrick Lamar—hinted that Carti was creating an entirely new sound called “burnt music.”
Despite all these signs, 2024 came and went without the album. The delay even sparked an online petition to ban Carti from streaming platforms—a sign of just how frustrated fans have become.
But earlier this month, Kai Cenat might have finally given Carti the push he needed. During a red carpet interview at the 2025 Grammy Awards, the streamer called out Carti on national TV, saying:
"The Playboi Carti album. He needs to drop, for real. Carti gotta drop. I know Carti gon’ see this. Carti, just drop!"
And Carti saw it. He reposted the clip with the caption: “REALEST VIDEO I SEEN IN 2025… DIS VIDEO MIGHT BE DA ONE TO DO IT.”
Now, with these new billboards surfacing, it feels like something major is finally happening. Could this be the moment fans have been waiting for?
