Drake might be back at No. 1, but his latest album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, isn’t putting up the blockbuster numbers fans are used to.
The PARTYNEXTDOOR collab is projected to sell around 250,000 equivalent units in its first week, per HITS Daily Double. While that’s enough for a Billboard 200 debut at No. 1—giving Drake his 14th chart-topper and PARTY his first—it also ranks as one of the lowest-selling first weeks of Drizzy’s career. To make matters worse, it falls short of Kendrick Lamar’s GNX, which opened with 319,000 last year, fresh off their headline-making rap battle.
Some might argue this isn’t a true Drake solo project and lacked the marketing push of his previous releases, but the numbers still tell a story. On the bright side, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U made an instant impact on streaming, pulling in 56.6 million first-day Spotify streams—the second biggest debut of 2025—and breaking Apple Music’s record for the biggest single-day streams for an R&B album.
Drake also seemed to sneak in a few words about his recent beef with Kendrick and even took a shot at Joe Budden. Regardless of sales, the 6 God is still making noise—but will it be enough to silence the doubters?
