Kanye West is once again calling out Nike—right as his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, teams up with the brand.
On Tuesday (February 18), Ye took to Instagram to accuse Nike of ripping off his signature sneaker designs. Posting images of the brand’s upcoming GT Future sneaker, he sarcastically wrote:
“THIS NEW NIKE DESIGN REALLY MOVED US / REALLY INSPIRED US AT YEEZY WE APPRECIATE YOU GUYS WORK TO THE TEAM TEAM BEHIND THESE THANK FOR MAKING SOMETHING NEW AND SPECIAL, LOVE YE.”
Nike has yet to respond, but the timing of Ye’s post raised eyebrows. It dropped just as Kardashian announced a major collaboration between her SKIMS brand and the sportswear giant.
“Introducing NikeSKIMS. A new brand coming this spring for the body obsessed. Designed to sculpt and engineered to perform,” Kim wrote on Instagram, unveiling what’s being called a game-changing fitness and activewear line.
Adding to the buzz, she even posted an image of her Nike employee badge, signaling her official partnership with Ye’s former collaborators.
While Adidas is usually the main target of Kanye’s social media rants—especially after their messy 2022 split—Nike is now back in the crosshairs. Ye famously worked with them in the late 2000s and early 2010s, before parting ways and launching his billion-dollar Yeezy empire with Adidas.
As for whether Nike will respond to Ye’s claims or if this is just another chapter in the ongoing saga between Kanye, Kim, and the sneaker industry—only time will tell.
