"Stream My Music or I Quit" – Lyta Sends Strong Message to Fans
Lyta isn’t holding back.
The Afrobeats singer, best known for his breakout under Olamide’s YBNL in 2018, has taken to Instagram Live to share his frustration — and it’s serious. According to him, if fans don’t start streaming his music, he might stop dropping new tracks entirely.
“I can do more good music,” he said during the session, “but if you don’t stream my music, I won’t drop another one. I’m in need of money.”
The 26-year-old artist didn’t sugarcoat his struggles, even joking about his slim appearance, saying, “Look at how I’m looking. I want to gain weight. Let me enjoy your money a little. If you stream my music, I will add weight.”
While he laughed through parts of the rant, the message was clear: Lyta is feeling the pressure. Behind the music is a young artist trying to stay afloat in a highly competitive industry. Since his departure from YBNL in 2019 following a disagreement with label boss Olamide, Lyta’s career has seen its ups and downs. Though he’s dropped a number of singles and features, none have quite matched the momentum of his early rise.
In past interviews, he openly admitted to wanting back into YBNL — even publicly pleading with Olamide to re-sign him. The request was never granted, leaving Lyta to navigate the scene solo.
Now, it seems he’s reached a breaking point — and he’s putting the ball in his fans’ court.
With social media already buzzing about his statement, it’s clear Lyta still has a loyal base rooting for him. Whether that support turns into streams and renewed success remains to be seen.
One thing’s certain: Lyta wants his hustle to pay off. And this time, he’s not keeping quiet about it.
