"Mohbad’s Father: ‘Even If DNA Proves Liam Is My Grandson, I’ll Still Sue Wunmi’"
Joseph Aloba, the father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has made it clear that he intends to take legal action against his daughter-in-law, Wunmi, regardless of the outcome of a DNA test on Liam, the child she had with his late son.
In a recent interview, Aloba expressed his frustration over the unanswered questions surrounding Mohbad’s death, stating that nearly two years later, he is still in the dark about what truly happened. He emphasized that verifying Liam’s paternity remains a top priority for him, but his concerns go beyond just that.
Speaking passionately, he said:
"When my son passed, Wunmi was the first person I questioned because she was his wife. Even if the DNA test confirms Liam is my grandson, I will still sue her. How can they take a five-month-old baby to shows where people openly smoke weed? Recently, I saw that they took him to Ibadan. I knew there was a nurse around, but I didn’t see her."
Aloba stressed that his focus is not on Mohbad’s wealth or assets but rather on uncovering the truth behind his death. He called on the government and relevant authorities to take action, insisting that forensic investigations should have provided more clarity by now.
"I’m tired. For two years, someone who died in his own house—there should be answers by now. Even if it was the nurse, what about the cameras in and outside the house? Where is the forensic evidence? Please help me, I don’t know what else to do."
His statements have reignited conversations surrounding Mohbad’s tragic passing, with many urging authorities to speed up investigations and ensure justice is served.
