How To Stream Audio From Your PC (Windows) To Phone (Android) [Correct Way]

In this guide, I am going to show you two ways to stream audio from your PC (Windows 7, 8, 10 & 11) to your android phone and I can guarantee you that one or two of the method would work if you follow the steps carefully.

Ensure you do so.

Method 1: Streaming Audio From PC To Android Using USB

The following are the steps for streaming audio from your PC to your android through a USB connection:

  •  Connect your Android to your PC via the USB tethering (off-course, you need to plug your Phone USB into your PC the way you'll do it if you want to transfer a file), please ensure USB tethering is connected before proceeding to the next step
  • Download & Install Soundwire on your PC at https://georgielabs.net/ if you are using Windows then click the windows icon. While installing it on your PC, ensure you accept any prompt asking for internet access, it wouldn't work without this.
  • Download & Install Soundwire on your Android phone (Don't Open It Yet), you can get it in the PlayStore by searching "SoundWire", if you can't find it, then here is a direct link to SoundWire in the PlayStore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.georgie.SoundWireFree
  • Again, ensure that your PC is connected to your phone via USB tethering
  • Open SoundWire on your PC, and you should get the following image:

  • Open The Installed SoundWire on your Phone, turn on the WI-FI on your Android phone (It won't use it but just turn it on, you can close it after it is connected), and enter the Server Address you get on your SoundWire (In PC) to the Android SoundWire Server box, in my case, it is 192.168.47.101 yours might be different
  • Having done that, tap on the SoundWire Image on your Android Phone and you should be connected, you will see a Connected message in the Status of the SoundWire (In PC), here is an image illustrating that:

  • Play any sound through your PC, and you should hear it on your Android too, you might want to mute the volume of your PC so you won't hear interference
  • Enjoy.
  • If you still can't connect, check the troubleshooting section below

Troubleshooting Streaming Audio From PC To Android Using USB

  1. If you still can't connect to SoundWire with all the above steps, try turning on USB debugging mode on your Android phone, google how to do that for your phone brand, it is super simple and most times this is usually the culprit.
  2. If the first step works for you, then you are done, bye. If it doesn't re-check if you are using USB tethering, it won't work without using USB tethering, re-start SoundWire on both PC & phone then retry.
  3. If number 2 doesn't work, re-start SoundWire on both PC and Phone.
  4. If number 3 doesn't work, please ensure you are typing in the Sever address properly on your SoundWire server input box, the numbers are separated by a dot (.), and don't put any space, for example, mine is  192.168.47.101 and not  192. 168. 47. 101 No space should be there at all.
  5. If number 4 doesn't work, hover the server address on SoundWire (PC), you should see a list of IP Addresses, something like the below image:

Try all the server addresses on your SoundWire app
  6. If number 5 doesn't work, check if SoundWire is given access to the internet in your PC, check the firewall, and if you don't know how to do that, Google: "How to give a software internet access on Windows"
  7. If all the steps doesn't work, you could maybe try SoundWire on a friend PC, and see maybe the issue is coming from your PC

Method 2: Streaming Audio From PC To Android Using WI-FI

If you hate the fact that you need to connect a USB to your PC to stream audio from your PC to your phone, then you can also use a WI-FI connection.

For this to work your Android phone and your PC has to be connected to the same network, I am not saying you should merely connect your PC through your phone Hotspot, you need to actually connect both the Phone and the PC to another WI-FI connection, so, that would serve as a bridge between them.

That said, you can follow the below steps to stream audio from PC to Android Using WI-FI

  • If you haven't downloaded SoundWire already on your PC, do that at https://georgielabs.net/ if you are using Windows then click the windows icon.
  • Again, ensure that both your PC & Phone is connected to the same network
  • Open SoundWire on your PC, and you should get the following image:

  • Open The Installed SoundWire on your Phone, turn on the WI-FI on your Android phone, and enter the Server Address you get on your SoundWire PC to the Android SoundWire Server box, in my case, it is 192.168.47.101 yours might be different
  • Having done that, tap on the SoundWire Image on your Android Phone and you should be connected, you will see a Connected message in the Status of the SoundWire PC version, here is an image illustrating that:

  • Play any sound through your PC, and you should hear it on your Android too, you might want to mute the volume of your PC so you won't hear interference
  • Enjoy

This concludes my guide on streaming audio from your PC to your Android phone, I hope it works and if you still can get it to work, do not hesitate to drop a comment specifying the issue you encounter and we can work out a solution together, see ya!
