J. Cole is juggling a lot these days—being a husband, a father, making music, and now, running his own blog. But even with everything on his plate, he’s determined to keep it all balanced.
In a new post on his blog, The Algorithm, Cole admitted he hasn’t been as consistent with updates as he’d like. “I knowwww mannnn. I’m off to a bad start with the consistency, but I’ma do better! Watch!!” he wrote. “I been locked in on the music while also balancing family life. It’s a juggling act that a blog post wouldn’t do justice in explaining. But with that said, I’m back tending to this garden.”
To keep the energy up, Cole is even considering bringing in some friends to contribute. “I think I’m gonna let some other people post on here too, to get the vibes up. It’ll motivate me to check every day and will fuel the desire to post more. I’ma start with Ib and Scott and then expand from there. To anybody in the squad reading, if you trying to contribute, I’m taking applications!”
Fans initially thought the blog was a sign that his long-awaited album, The Fall Off, was on the way—especially since Cole had previously hinted at dropping new music before this year’s Dreamville Festival in April. But in a follow-up post, he shut down the album rumors.
“Ib told me some people was thinking this blog meant an album was about to drop,” he said, referring to his longtime manager, Ibrahim Hamad. “Nahhh. Not exactly. When it’s time for something, you will know. This is not that. I just wanted a place to share documentaries I be watching on YouTube and songs I f*ck with.”
Whenever it does drop, The Fall Off is expected to be the follow-up to The Off-Season (2021) and possibly his final album.
