Portable Walks Free After Bail, Saheed Osupa Drops Petition
Controversial street-hop artist, Portable, is back on the outside. The singer, born Badmus Abeeb Okikiola, was released on Tuesday afternoon after spending a few days in custody at the Oke-Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin.
His release came shortly after Fuji legend Saheed Osupa, who had filed a petition against him, chose to withdraw the case. Osupa was present in Ilorin for the legal proceedings.
Sources at the correctional facility confirmed that Portable was granted bail around 3:30 pm following a reviewed adjustment of his earlier, tougher bail conditions. Interestingly, he had to shave off his signature multi-coloured hair while in custody.
Two of his wives were reportedly present to welcome him as he walked out of the facility. According to officials, Portable finally had his first proper meal Tuesday morning since his arrest.
Recall that Portable was picked up last Saturday in Abeokuta and transferred to Ilorin by Kwara State police operatives. He faced charges of defamation, criminal intimidation, and threats to life, based on a petition filed by Saheed Osupa.
Now out on bail, fans and critics alike are watching closely to see what Portable does next.
